The Elefant is an improved version of the Ferdinand tank-hunter that made it's debut during the battle of Kursk. Based originally on a version of the Tiger I hull, the armoured super structure was impervious to most shots from enemy tanks. The Ferdinand & Elefant may have been the most successful mass produced tank destroyer employed during the war in kills per loss, reaching an average claimed ratio of approximately 10:1.
In Flames of War, the high AT of the gun combined with the extremely high frontal armour means although pricey in points, is a great support option to be a lynchpin in your defensive line.
